Vilnius Airport (VNO), in collaboration with the international wellness startup Walk15, has launched a unique global initiative — for the first time ever, travelers can now access the Fast Track security lane by exchanging their walking steps. This pilot project coincides with another important initiative — “Vilnius – European Green Capital 2025.”

To use the Fast Track service, travelers simply need to accumulate 100 000 steps in the Walk15 app.

Option Trip – The aim is to encourage physical activity while offering a practical reward — a faster and more comfortable airport experience.

“Welcome to the world’s first Fast Track lane paid for by steps. Every step we take brings double the benefit — it improves our health and mood, and now it also gives us a smoother travel experience. I’m proud that Vilnius is the first to launch this pilot project, and I believe other airports around the world will follow our example,” said Vlada Musvydaitė-Vilčiauskė, founder and CEO of Walk15.

This innovation highlights the global trend of using technology to promote healthy lifestyles and sustainability. According to Simonas Bartkus, CEO of Lithuanian Airports, “This step-based Fast Track offer allows our passengers to turn their daily activity into a tangible travel benefit. It supports both convenience and our broader sustainability and innovation goals.”

The service is not a one-time promotion. Walk15 Plus users can take advantage of the Fast Track lane once per week by exchanging 100,000 steps from their in-app step wallet. This supports long-term habits and aligns with Vilnius’s goals as the European Green Capital.

“Being named the European Green Capital is not just symbolic — it’s a challenge. It pushes us to find creative and effective ways to connect daily routines with sustainability and mobility. Turning steps into travel perks like Fast Track access is a strong example that real change is possible,” said Jurga Pociūtė-Mikūtienė, Head of the Vilnius City Municipality project “Vilnius – European Green Capital 2025.”
